Audience Feedback & Reviews
“Very well put musical, great thespians too. The lady who played Camille was so perfectly chosen, she was adorable and had a good resemblance to her. I only wish they played in a better theatre.”

“Brilliant new musical. Fascinating how they brought the pictures onto the stage. Good use of timelines - young Monet, older Monet - to tell this wonderful story.”

“The songs are impressive, often timeless and complex…..
It is certainly a feat to capture La Belle Époque Paris and such artists in all their glory, and the production succeeds at telling the complex tale of a man’s life with beauty and sensitivity. The final track, The Beauty of Life, is genuinely moving, and speaks to the immersive nature of the musical, with the entire ensemble joining Monet as he finally finds his passion again.”
“…The story is compelling, cogent, and coherent, the tone, tempo, and time shifts are adroitly handled, the acting, songs and music are engaging, entertaining and exhilarating. Part Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George and part Zemeckis’ Back to the Future, Carmel Owen’s musical is a welcome addition to London’s cultural landscape.”

‘It’s a lovingly drawn portrait of an artist learning to balance love, legacy, and the eternal pursuit of ambition’‘This is a strong, heartfelt production, and one to catch before its last stroke’
“An excellent eight-piece orchestra takes on Owen’s songs, which lead us aptly through the story’s tonal beats – lush strings for young love; jaunty woodwind for bantering artists.”
